Intro: Discover the northeast (Tohoku) region of Mainland Japan, full of nature, history and culture. Tohoku is not well-known to western culture yet, but this program will blow you away for its scenery of the great nature and its culture.
 
Itinerary
Day1    Tokyo    Arrive at Narita International Airport, Transfer to Hotel in Tokyo on your own.
Day2    Tokyo→Sendai→Matsushima    Leave Tokyo by Bullet train to Sendai and transfer to local train to Matsushima. Upon your arrival in Matsushima, private guided tour will begin. Locations will include: Zuigan-ji Temple, Kanran-tei and Godaido.
Day3    Matsushima→Hiraizumi→Hanamaki    Private guided full-day tour in Hiraizumi. Locations will include: Motsu-ji Temple, Chuson-ji Temple, Konjiki-do and Gikei-do.
Day4    Hanamaki→Tazawako→Kakunodate    Prviate guided full-day tour in Takazawa-ko, along Dakigaeri Gorge. Then proceed to Kakunodate where you will find cherry grove and old samurai houses.
Day5    Kakunodate→Sendai→Yamagata    Leave to Sendai by Bullet Train to visit Zuiho-den hall. Then proceed to Yamagata by local express train. On the way, you will witness the great scenery of the Zaou Mountain Range.
Day6    Yamagata→Tokyo    Half day tour in Yama-dera (Temples at mountains) and Risshaku-ji Temple. Then proceed to Basho Memorial Museum. During the afternoon you will return to Tokyo by Bullet Train.
Day7    Tokyo Narita Departure    Please proceed to Narita International Airport on your own
