Narita Airport

DAY 2
Pick-up Service
Gather at designated locations and board bus to Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal.

 

09:00 Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal
The tour departs Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal to begin sightseeing around Tokyo.

 

Tokyo Tower (40 min)
Get a spectacular view of Metropolitan Tokyo from the observation deck

 

Imperial Palace Plaza (10 min)
Admire the view of Nijubashi Bridge and the surrounding scenery

at this National Garden that was formerly a private garden of the Royal Family

 

Asakusa Kannon & Shopping at Nakamise (40 min)
Of the 33 temples in Eastern Japan dedicated to the Goddess Kannon,

this is the only one in the capital (No. 13 on the pilgrimage to all 33 temples).

Visit this historic area which includes Nakamise-dori, the street leading to the temple.

 

Akihabara via Ueno (drive by)
Enjoy a pleasant drive through Ueno, where Tokyo’s first coffee shop once stood,

to Akihabara which is home to the famous Electric Town.

Participants who wish may get off the bus at Akihabara.

All other participants will get a view of Akihabara from the windows

and continue to Tokyo Station by bus.

The tour will end at Tokyo Station. Please head to your next destination on your own.

 

DAY 3

This tour can be joined from various meeting points mainly located at major hotels throughout Tokyo.

 

09:00 Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal (120 min)
Depart Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal and head to Mt. Fuji by bus.

This tour follows the same itinerary as the 1-Day Mt. Fuji & Hakone Tour.
(Chuo Expressway, or Tomei Expressway).

 

Fuji Visitor Center (20 min)
Learn about the historic eruptions, nature, and culture surrounding Japan’s most iconic mountain,

Mt. Fuji. There are many videos and panel displays to interact with and enjoy!

 

Mt. Fuji 5th Station (30 min)
Start the ascent up Mt. Fuji via the Fuji Subaru Line.

Climb 2,300 meters (7,546 ft) above sea level for breathtaking views from above the clouds.
 

Lunch
Enjoy a Japanese-style lunch.

 

Lake Ashi Cruise (15 min)
Go for a sightseeing cruise on Lake Ashi.

The crater lake was born from a powerful volcanic eruption nearly 3,000 years ago

and provides postcard views of Mt. Fuji from various angles.
 

Mt. Komagatake Ropeway (50 min)
Spend a total of 50 minutes including a 7-minute cableway ride up to the peak from Hakone-en.

(original shrine) that nestles at the mountaintop.

Participants will be taken by taxi from Kyoto Station to their hotels.

An English-speaking staff member will guide participants to the taxi,

but will not ride along in the taxi.

 

DAY 4

Participants are picked up by bus and taken to New Miyako Hotel

This tour follows the same itinerary as the 1-Day Kyoto & Nara Tour.

All transportation on the tour will be by bus.

 

Nijo Castle (50 min)
A UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tour the historical castle completed in 1626,

which was built to provide lodging for Tokugawa Shogun and as a palladium for Kyoto Imperial Palace.

 

Kinkaku-ji Temple (45 min)
Visit this World Heritage Site, also known as the Golden Pavilion.

The wooden architecture is covered in thin layers of pure gold and is surrounded by a beautiful lake.

 

Kyoto Imperial Palace (from Mondays to Fridays) (40 min)
Entry of international visitors generally require application in advance,

but participants of this tour can enter only by going through a brief procedure.
 

Kitano Tenmangu Shrine (Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays) (40 min)
Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is the substitute for Kyoto Imperial Palace on Saturdays,

Sundays and holidays. This shrine’s main hall is a designated national treasure

and is famous for housing the God of scholarship.

The shrine is especially great to see during the plum blossom and autumn leaf seasons.

 

Lunch (Japanese-style) (50 min)

 

From Kyoto to Nara (70 min)
Head to Nara via the Nara Keinawa Expressway

 

Nara Park & Todai-ji Temple (Great Buddha) (60 min)
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this is the symbol of the Nara Period

and one of the world’s largest wooden structure.

Its huge main hall and bronze Great Buddha are impressive to behold.

 

Kasuga Taisha Shrine (40 min)
This Nara Period shrine is designated as a World Heritage Site.

The deer of Nara Park are thought to be the shrine messengers.
Remarks: At Kasuga Taisha Shrine, the tour will not enter areas requiring admission.

 

Nara Nagomikan (20 min)
The largest souvenir shop in Nara. Enjoy yourself in this spacious shop and look for the perfect souvenir.
Remarks: The tour may not visit Nara Nagomikan if it is closed or due to traffic conditions.

A shared taxi will take you from the hotel to the airport.

    3. This is a special tour for international visitors. Please understand that residents of Japan cannot make bookings for this tour.
    4. If the minimum number of participants is not met by 20 days before the scheduled date, the tour on that date may be cancelled.

    (Days 3-5)
    1. Large baggage such as suit cases will be transported from Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal to hotels in Kyoto by truck on day-1. (One article of standard size luggage per customer will be transported free of charge. Any additional items will incur a fee of JPY 2,200 per article, which will need to be paid on the day.) Your baggage will be delivered on the same day that it is sent. However, we will be unable to guarantee the arrival time of goods.
    2. The scheduled time of arrival at Kyoto Station after sightseeing has concluded on day-1 is between 22:00 to 23:00.
    3. When traveling from Odawara to Kyoto on day-1 of the tour, participants may be required to transfer trains at either Shizuoka or Nagoya Station. In such cases, staff will provide instructions on the day.

    Mt. Fuji & Hakone Tour:
    1. GPS-equipped audio guides are available in Chinese and Spanish on the bus. Please make a request when booking if you would like an audio guide. There are a limited number of audio guides available, so it may not be possible to provide one for each participant.
    2. Hakone Komaga-take Ropeway may be omitted from the itinerary due to heavy traffic. The tour will not be cancelled or refunded in such cases.
    3. If Fuji Visitor Center is closed or the tour is behind schedule due to traffic delays, Fuji Visitor Center may be omitted from the itinerary.
    4. If the Fuji Subaru Line to Mt. Fuji's 5th Station is closed due to icy roads, the tour will be taken as high as possible.
    5. Mt. Fuji's 5th station is typically 10 to 15 degrees Celsius colder than Tokyo. Please bring a coat and other warm clothing on tours from autumn to spring.
    6. The tour will not be cancelled or refunded even if Mt. Fuji is not fully visible due to weather conditions.
    7. Lake Ashi Cruise and/or Hakone Komaga-take Ropeway may be omitted from the itinerary, depending on traffic, weather conditions, or other operational concerns. If either or both are omitted the following alternatives may be used: Hakone-en Aquarium, Hakone Ropeway, Owakudani valley, Hakone Sightseeing Cruise (pirate ship), Narukawa Art Museum, Hakone Sekisho (checking station) remains, Lake Kawaguchi Cruise, Lake Kawaguchi Ropeway, or Itchiku Kubota Art Museum. The tour will not be cancelled or refunded for such itinerary changes. The interpreter guide will decide on the alternate location.

    Kyoto & Nara Tour
    1. On Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed. On these days, the tour will visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. The same is true of the period before and after the public viewing of Kyoto Imperial Palace in spring and autumn, May 14 - 17 due to the Aoi Festival, New Year's holidays, and whenever there is an Imperial Household event.
    2. Please note that before entering the Kyoto Imperial Palace you will be required to fill out a form with your personal information such as your full name, sex, age, and nationality. (The form will be provided on the tour day.)
    3. On Sep.25, Nishi Hongan-ji Temple will serve as the alternative for Kitano Tenmangu Shrine.
    4. On Tuesdays (Wednesday if Tuesday is a national holiday) in January, July, August, and December, Nijo Castle is closed. The tour will visit Ryoan-ji Temple instead.
    5. At Kasuga Taisha Shrine, the tour will not enter areas requiring admission.
    6. Tour may not visit Nara Nagomikan if it is closed or if traffic conditions make the visit difficult.
    7. Connection to the Kyoto Night Tour or Kyoto Maiko Tour is not possible.
