IACE'S Kyushu in Bloom Tour is not only a colorful journey, but will also be an unforgettable cultural experience.
The beauty of Japan during the Cherry Blossom Season is not only breathtaking but priceless.
Tour Highlights :
Beppu Jigoku Onsen :
Beppu is a small town and would not have been one of the major tourist attractions if it was not for their
hot springs. There are two kinds of hot springs (onsen), one for bathing and
one for viewing. Beppu is known for the latter. The geothermal activity
underneath the ground is absolutely sensational. There are nine spectacular hot
springs known as "Beppu Jigoku"-Umi Jigoku- Hell of Sea, Oniishibosu
Jigoku- named after the mud bubbles, Shiraike Jigoku – named the hot milky
white water, Yama Jigoku- Mountain Hell, Kamado Jigoku- Cooking Pot Hell
Oniyama Jigoku-, Devil's Mountain Hell, Kinryu Jogoki- Golden Dragon Hell,
Chinoike Jigoku- Blpod Pond Hell, and Tatsumaki Jigoku- Tornado Hell.
Kumamoto Castle:
The Kumamoto Castle is the premier landmark of Kumamoto City, and is
one the most impressive tourist destination in Japan. The castle stands on
a hilltop, and the large castle grounds with variety of buildings offers visitors
the most complete castle experience in Japan. The castle is featured by a
curve stone known as musha gaeshi, moats and the wooden overhangs
designed to protect the castle from intruders. With 800 cherry trees
surrounding the castle, Kumamoto Castle has become of the popular cherry
blossom spot in late March and early April.
Sakurajima :
Sakurajima is located in the center of Kagoshima Prefecture, 6.2 miles east of the
city of Kagoshima. It has one of the most active stratovolcano (composite cone
and most picturesque of the volcanoes) in the world. Sakurajima was originally
an island, but it became a peninsula when the lava from eruption of 1914's closed
the channel between the island and Osumi Peninsula. The continuous volcanic
activity has named Sakurajima as Vesuvius of the East. The volcanic activity
still continues to drop volcanic ash on the surroundings which resulted in the
white sands highlands in the region.
